RSA | Shared Paths | LATM | Footpaths
Pedestrian / cyclist and LATM facilities were proposed over ~3km, converting existing footpaths to shared paths, and at some locations have a dedicated bicycle-only path. At one end there were elderly people to/from aged care, residents walking, and sparse areas with few abutting accesses. At the other end there was a major school, regular abutting development, accesses, and many walkers/cyclists, and a large number of school children on foot, bikes, scooters, in groups, and congregating in some areas.
RSA observed the existing conditions and user operation.
One key concern was whether a high-speed roundabout departure-side platform crossing was ‘enough’ to provide asatisfactory level of safety.
