RSA | LATM | Concept Design
The project aimed to create a more welcoming space for pedestrians and open up the connection and wayfinding to and from the other commercial areas. This was to be done with landscaping, improved separation of pedestrians and vehicles, compliant ramps, upgrading assets, and reviewing parking arrangements and surfacing. The audit contemplated a range of criteria / issues associated with the project, including:
- General pedestrian safety
- Pedestrian desire lines
- The potential for pedestrian confusion
- Sight distance in relation to pedestrians and drivers due to street furniture and landscaping
- Vehicle turn movements
- Roadside hazards
- Lighting
