Logistics / Industrial

Recent examples of RSA working outside of public roads and assisting logistics/industrial facilities includes: Toll Holdings (Tullamarine); Austral Bricks (Craigieburn); Port of Melbourne; Ford Australia; and, Titan Concrete.

Specific guidance from these non-road facilities is incorporated from materials such as Safe Work Australia’s ‘Workplace Traffic Management’, ‘How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks’, ‘Traffic Management: Guide for Warehousing’, ‘Traffic Hazard Checklist’, ‘Traffic Control Measures’, and so on. Or, AS2890.1 Off-Street Car Parking in relation to staff parking areas.

As with roads, the aim is to understand the high-risk locations, movements and conflict points in relation to the site constraints and operational aspects and assess against the risk mitigations proposed and their status against the hierarchy of safety controls.
