Thiess Contractors internal seminars relating use and construction of roads for various purposes including mine haul routes (Nationally)

RSA conducted training workshops for Thiess personnel in Victoria, NSW, Queensland and WA. The workshops focussed on risk management and mitigation measures along public roads, construction site roads and mine roads. Each type of work environment had its unique risk profile and issues that were covered in the seminar series. RSA’s presentation essentially focused on conflict management and risk management measures to better address movement of mine vehicles and construction vehicles/activities without compromising practices adopted within the mining site areas.

Hamilton region mineral sands transport assessments (Victoria)

This project provided a strategic assessment of road based transport of mineral sands from the Hamilton area to either the ports of Geelong, Portland or Melbourne. It included evaluation of the various risk issues associated with the additional large transport vehicles on access routes to each of the port locations as well as the suitability of port storage and loading facilities to handle mineral sand materials.

Gladstone mining road access evaluation (Queensland)

RSA undertook an existing conditions road safety audit report for Targinie Road, Gladstone-Mt Larcom Road to Chernih Road, Gladstone. This route formed part of the broader $15B Gladstone mining/energy project. The route analysed was proposed as a heavy truck route for the project. The audit considered the existing physical conditions of the road and the roadside environment, and whether existing traffic control devices comply with current standards / the road environment.
